A Tribute for William “Will” Austin,

A Renowned Detroit Bassist & Living Legend

DETROIT, Michigan, Sunday, October 20, 2013, Join us in a tribute honoring, William “Will” Austin,a renowned Detroit bassist and living legend on Wednesday, October 23, 2013 between 5-7 pm at the historical Baker’s Keyboard Lounge, 20510 Livernois Avenue, Detroit, 48221. The cost is $10 and presented by HYPED International Records.

“We want to express our love and appreciation for “William Austin” as a father and musician,” states, Tony Green, Will’s son and renowned Detroit bassist. “This is sure to be star-studded event with performances by musicians who’ve performed with or were mentored by my Dad.” Further stating, “He doesn’t know about ‘his’ special night, so please help us keep it quiet.”

He began as one of the younger jazz musician’s of the “The Detroit Wave” which included tenor saxophonists; Lucky Thompsonand Wardell Gray,pianist Hank Jonesand bassist Al McKibbon. DETROIT, Michigan, Thursday, April 18, 2013 for the sixth consecutive year, Detroit Entertainers & Musicians News has presented artist-to-artist “red carpet” interviews to honor the Detroit musician community during the 2013 Detroit Music Awards (DMA). This year celebrate with us on Friday, April 19, 2013 at the Fillmore-Detroit. The 2013 DMA winners and nominees are invited to be captured during a free 2-4 minute video recorded interview. The interviews are conducted on the balcony of the Fillmore-Detroit between 6:00 p.m. – 9:00 p.m.

Hosting the 2013 “red carpet” interviews are two popular Detroit artists Pato Margetic and Braxton Vanzant Davis.

Pato Margetic, a native of Rochester Hills, Michigan, musician, singer and songwriter who created a unique style with his acoustic guitar and smooth voice. He's being compared to a crossover version of Michael Franks and John Mayer. Interestingly, he’s mastered acquiring the attention of women while writing lyrics which relate directly to men. One huge accomplishment outside of the music industry for Pato was being named “2012 Cosmopolitan Bachelor of the Year” for Michigan. To follow Pato, visit: www.patomotown.com.

Braxton Vanzant Davis, a native Detroiter and true showman who began entertaining in 2005.
