Annually the Detroit Police 11th precinct community relations section along with Detroit Entertainers & Musicians News hosts a breakfast or luncheon to honor local law enforcement featuring local jazz artists during National Police Week, May 15-21, 2016.
The annual National Police Week Celebration expressed on a local level to show appreciation for law enforcement in Detroit .
Wednesday, November 11, 2015, Light Guard Armory, 4400 East 8 Mile Road, the DPD - 11th Precinct hosted the 8th annual Veteran's Day Luncheon. And, inaugural Veterans Parade down East 8 Mile Road.
On Tuesday, November 11, 2014, in memory of our troops, defenders of our freedom, DPD honored veterans with a luncheon fit for royalty. The entertainment was compliments of Detroit EM News which featured: Leslie Nelson-Ferguson who penned and sang her song especially for soldiers, entitled: "Thank you, Soldier!"
