Born and raised in Oahu, Hawaii, Henry K. Kailimai Sr., not only grew to become an accomplished musician, composer, engineer and teacher of music. He also became a great grandfather to Adrianne Collins, Editor in chief of Detroit Entertainers & Musicians News and Leslie Nelson Ferguson, President of Detroit Metro Area Musicians & Entertainers Association (DMAMEA).
There are plans to further honor our extraordinary ancestry, as well as, create an art exhibit for people of color with rich family legacies in Detroit, Michigan.
